ABOUT US
DW Music Tuition was founded by Daniel Wormell (BMus, Grad Dip Ed) a qualified teacher and guitarist with a wealth of performance experience. He along with his team of amazing teachers have been part of the Derinya community for over 15 years and work on providing the very best tuition opening up the possibilities of music to all students. Aside from his work at DW Music Tuition Daniel is also a classroom, guitar and ensemble leader at Cornish College in Bangholme.
We offer instrumental lessons to all ages and all abilities priding ourselves on our ability to spark the creativity in all students. Going it alone in the world of music can be tough so we can walk you through the basics of the instrument but also specialise in VCE Music preparing for SAC's, end of year exams and being a guide and support through the VCE Music curriculum.
Whatever style of music you play or want to learn we can teach you the fundamentals and key concepts needed to get there.
Equipment such as keyboards, guitars, drums PA systems and microphones available for use during lessons but students are more than welcome to bring in their own instruments along. Modern technology and IT are used such as smart boards and audio recording is available to give students real time feedback on their performances.
Lessons at Derinya Primary School after school Mon - Thursday afternoon and are available to students of all ages Primary, Secondary and Adults not just Derinya Primary students. All teachers have current Working With Children Checks' or Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
Ultimately the focus of the lessons is learning music in a fun and engaging way where students play music they enjoy and want to practice at home.

PERFORMANCES
Each year students are invited to perform at The Big Gig! These free concerts take place in November/December to celebrate all the hard work that the students have done over the year. For Derinya students the show is held in the Derinya Centre on an afternoon for friends and family and at FHPS we take over a whole school assembly to perform to the whole school both are always special and memorable afternoons.

DW Music Tuition offers instrumental lessons to compliment regular Performing Arts or Music classes. A fantastic way to engage students by extending them or giving them a creative outlet during the school day. Currently this program is running at Frankston Heights Primary School and Derinya Primary School.

PAYMENTS
Payment is by the term with the invoices being sent out via e mail.
CREDITS
In school lessons (FHPS): With so much going on during the school day any missed lesson will not be charged for. A credit will be arranged where you will pay less on the following term's invoice.
After School lessons (Derinya/Online): A credit will be arranged when notice of absence is given by 10am on the day of the lesson. Late notice and unexcused absences will be charged for as usual.
